Podere Pietreta is a large stone farmhouse from the 1700s that has undergone a meticulous and passionate restoration, carried out preserving the architectural details and using only original materials. The farmhouse sits on a hill in an exceptionally beautiful location within the Val d’Orcia Natural and Artistic Park. A three-hectare park surrounds the farm, in which the panoramic swimming pool (mt. 6×12), the olive grove, the parking lot, and the belvedere are inserted.
Available to guests are 3 large apartments of different sizes, 2 lovely double rooms and a beautiful detached house-also made of stone-which has just been renovated.
All apartments are characterized by good taste and warmth, have fireplaces and are elegantly furnished with period furniture. The kitchens are made of handcrafted stone, and the bedrooms are embellished with many small paintings made from the old lace and embroidery that belonged to the owners’ grandmothers. No neglect was made to equip the apartments with all comforts: satellite television, dishwasher, refrigerator-freezer, microwave oven, independent heating, hair dryer. Each bedroom has its own bathroom with shower.
In front of the ‘entrance of each apartment has been reserved a large exclusive space, equipped with table, chairs, umbrella and private barbecue, where guests can have meals while enjoying the beautiful view. Free Wi-Fi and cable Internet connection is active.
To safeguard the peace of mind of guests, Pietreta does not have a restaurant inside the property, but some of the best typical restaurants in Radicofani (only 2 km away) offer Podere Pietreta’s guests special agreements.
Podere Pietreta is the ideal starting point for short-range excursions (30 to 60 minutes) to some of the most attractive locations in Tuscany: Radicofani, San Quirico d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni, Pienza, Montepulciano, Montalcino, Chiusi, Cetona, San Casciano Bagni, Arezzo, Siena. In 20 minutes you are in the woods of Mount Amiata, Umbria is a half-hour drive away.
Another absolutely exceptional feature is the presence, no more than 30 minutes away, of numerous spas among the most renowned: the San Casciano Baths, the pools of Sarteano, Bagni San Filippo, the Chianciano hydrothermal complexes, etc.
The Val d’Orcia also represents a valuable food and wine destination: it is located in the heart of the Chianti and Montepulciano DOCG area, and is the home of pici, pasture meats, wild mushrooms and exceptional cheeses, the result of the competition between local traditions and the recent insertions of Sardinian pastoralism.
