How to get to Radicofani

Reaching Radicofani is simple and evocative: the village is located in Tuscany, in the heart of the Val d’Orcia, along the Via Francigena. It is easily accessible by car via the Autostrada del Sole highway (Chiusi-Chianciano or Fabro exit), or by train to Chiusi, with bus connections to the village. A journey through hills, history and unique landscapes.

Radicofani is easily accessible by car. If you are coming from the north or south, take the A1 highway and exit at Chiusi-Chianciano Terme or Fabro. From there, continue following the signs for Sarteano and then Radicofani. The scenic road through the Val d’Orcia makes the journey an evocative experience, among hills, cypresses and unforgettable views.

The nearest train station is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, on the Florence-Rome line. From there, you can continue with the FT9 line (alternatively FT5 + B24) by bus, a journey of about 60-70 minutes to Radicofani.

The main airports from which to travel to Radicofani are:

  • Perugia (PEG), about 65 km away.

  • Florence-Peretola (FLR), about 111 km away: international airport with numerous flights from Europe and connections via bus and train to Radicofani.

  • Pisa (PSA), Rome Fiumicino (FCO), and Ciampino (CIA): other viable solutions, with distances between 130 and 140 km, and the possibility of organized transfers.

From each airport you can rent a car or book a direct transfer. Alternatively, from Florence or Pisa one can take a train to Chiusi-Chianciano Terme, followed by a bus to Radicofani.

You can choose from lines FT9 (Chiusi-Sarteano-Radicofani) or B24 (Abbadia San Salvatore-Radicofani-Sarteano), both served by Autolinee Toscane . The main stop, “Radicofani – Via Luchini” or “Loc. Calcine“, is only a few minutes’ walk from the center. The FT9 bus departs from Chiusi Station about once an hour, taking about 1h06 min
