A model landscape recognized by UNESCO
A rare example of land transformation that occurred before the Renaissance, the result of a harmonious vision between man and nature, guided by civic ideals and a conscious aesthetic of the landscape.
A symbolic landscape, depicted and made famous by the artists of the Sienese school of painting, which contributed greatly to the evolution of visual culture and thought related to the representation of the territory.
The area
In the heart of Tuscany lies an area of rare harmony, recognized by UNESCO for its scenic and cultural value: the Val d’Orcia. Five municipalities-Pienza, Montalcino, San Quirico d’Orcia, Castiglione d’Orcia and Radicofani-compose its soul, each with its own peculiarities and charm.
Here nature draws unique scenery made up of undulating hills, neat vineyards, ancient villages and hot springs that tell millennia-old stories.

Itineraries between nature and history
One of the most evocative paths in Europe, a millennia-old trail that goes beyond its history, also opening up to lovers of trekking and of cycling and offering routes that pass through unspoiled landscapes, scenic hills and ancient villages. Whether you choose to walk or bike, you can follow the road to wellness every day in Radicofani.
